FT-817 again

Sorry for not updating the blog often but for the last  52 days I worked 50 so I had very few time and energy left for writing...

Continuing:
I am now a proud owner (for the second time) of a Yaesu FT-817 and an LDG 817 (first time) antenna tuner.

sorry for the photo but you already know how it is...here's the catalog one:

Both the FT-817 and the tuner are second hand, so not in pristine condition, but they work...I don't know why I sold my previous FT-817 but this is one of those radios I really like...and keep coming back to... the only thing I really don't like is the VFO knob... too small but anyhow it will be to be computer controlled.

This little piece of equipment will allow me to have an all band all mode equipment, computer controlled, for some automated reception. Will also allow me reception/transmission on 50Mhz to check against a down-converter I made.

Meanwhile I will try to update the blog more often...
